Some Flowers Just Bloom Dead
As it begins it shows promise
Might just take some time to develop
And then it seems it’s must be near fruition
It could be finished with a bit of intuition
But then it blows up in your face
And you feel that big disgrace
Do you belong in the human race?
Can’t keep up with their rapid pace
Even though you try
It’s never good enough for them
And you see them cry
In the secret way that they do
Though they try to hide
Their tears inside their head
They know inside
That some flowers just bloom dead
So you rise in the wake of defeat
And you return to the garden
It’s no use the soil is bad
Killing every seed its ever had
To start fresh you break new ground
But it’s just the same as before
All the soil you touch turns to dust
Visions of success growing rust
But then it blows up in your face
And you feel that big disgrace
Do you belong in the human race?
Can’t keep up with their rapid pace
Even though you try
It’s never good enough for them
And you see them cry
In the secret way that they do
Though they try to hide
Their tears inside their head
They know inside
That some flowers just bloom dead
And so now I sing to you my sweet
And you know you could save me
But you smile as you walk away
Hair glistens as it sways
Song after song I write for you
But it’s just the same as before
Silent notes fall on deaf ears
Trapped in my vacuous mind for years
But it blows up in my face
I don’t deserve your loving grace
Do I belong in the human race?
Can’t keep up with their rapid pace
Even though I try
It’s never good enough for you
And I see you cry
In the secret way that you do
Though you try to hide
Your tears inside your head
You know inside
That some flowers just bloom dead
